Skraddaregatan: Swedish Design

I am in love with this
Swedish "Dala Horse" bean bag. The Dala Horse is a over 400 years old, and if you are Swedish it is a well recognized symbol found on just about everything you own. I am personally torn on what my style will be. I love Swedish minimalism, but I do not want to be entirely modern. I love dark woods, but also love painted white wood. I have determined that I want all doors, and trim in my home to be all white, with very subdued paint on the walls. I love the way dark furniture looks like it's floating in this kind of room (mixed with white and dark woods). I want to honor my heritage while keeping with other traditions as well.

Textile Designer:
Michelle Adams
Photographer: Patrick Cline

Rubie Green - 100% Organic Perfection. When Michelle Adams formed her company Rubie Green in 2008, her intention was to make simple chic fabrics and bedding without harming the environment. The site is gorgeous and invigorating. You feel like you are smelling fresh washed linens as you gaze at the images. If you like bold patterns I would highly recommend this site. Also see: Michelle's & Adam's Lonny Magazine.

I love this room! The Ikea Lack Bookcase is so elegant! This is Michelle Adams textile design office, (Rubie Green) it's gorgeous. See more of this at LonnyMag.com it's a brand new Magazine and it looks promising. What's nice about it is that all the images have links so if you see something you like you can click it and it will take you directly to the site to purchase! As simple as that seems it has taken magazines far too long to create a good web presence. Bravo!

Simon Doonan & Jonathan Adler.

Two people I admire greatly. Both have tremendous style, humor. This is one classy couple, if I could die and come back as either two I would! If you have never experienced the sheer genius of Adler's pottery then this is a crash course on interior "artists". He has perfected the Hollywood Regency style. My husband and I have great taste, but some people just have it all. It's like their hair is never out of place! Are they even human? Make sure to read Adler's manifesto it's fantasic.

Atlanta, Georgia

So I learned a new Interior Design term "Quatrefoil." While this form originally was used in Christianity, it is now finding it's way into our homes. It means "four leaves", and applies to general tetra-lobed shapes in different forms. Regardless, of it's history it is making a big splash in interiors.
Hickory Chair Furniture is now carrying Suzanne Kasler's gorgeous southern-style furniture. She truly knows how to create a grand home!

I found these images via emma's designblog.

Wallpaper lust: Cole & Son
Name: Woods

If you have ever had the pleasure of wandering through a forest of birch trees, then you know how incredibly beautiful the contrast of white & black is against the leaves and snow. Cole & Son's "Woods" wallpaper perfectly captures the feeling of being surrounded by trees. The contrast is elegant and is an ingenious departure from boring white walls!

Domino: Book

I finally caved in. I wasn't certain I would buy the Domino:The Book of Decorating: A Room-by-Room Guide to Creating a Home That Makes You Happy. But here I am like a giddy child on Christmas morning opening my package. I had convinced myself I did not need it since I had a subscription but then they went out of business and it was kind of like moarning for me. That being said, I was also quite impressed with it. It actually had a very well organized flow to it that I did not expect. Upon further inspection, I found it was also very detailed. I found it to be a completely "useful" book, with a gorgeous hardbound cover! I recommend any interiorophiles to rush out and get it before it goes out of print.

Emersonmade. Shoulder-Bouquets.

So I was meandering around the Internet today when I came upon this incredibly talented couple at Emersonmade
. She makes these beautiful fabric flowers that Carrie Bradshaw would have to have, but it's more than that. It's clear they live on an organic farm somewhere in the Boston area. It's a meticulously executed magical life they have created for themselves. Simplicity at it's best. Her aesthetic is in my opinion preppy perfect, sophisticated country. There is no better way to describe it. Check it out! Everyone should buy her flowers, they go quickly! I have never been so inspired in my life. I may not have mentioned this as of yet, but my dream is to have a farm like my grandfather's. I can't wait to get out of So Cal to go back to anywhere the soil is black and rich like in these images. I plan on buying several of her flowers, and wearing them with neutral jackets!

Sarah Seven - Model is wearing Tea top and Crumpets skirt.

Photography by: Zachary Bascom

Portland, OR.

If you didn't see
Sarah Seven in Lucky Magazine, then here is your chance to see her work. Everything she makes is feminine and romantic with retro shapes that have been modernized. The photo styling and photography is amazing also. Her dresses are perfect for an Indie-Style wedding. Since she was recently featured in Lucky give her some time to get caught up on work orders, trust me her clothes are worth the wait. I can't imagine the work load she must have gotten from that feature.
